About Us

Who We Are

Established in 2021, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Advanced Centre for Genomic Technology (ACGT) was created to partner with National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad to address the global urgency of genomic tracking of the deadly virus and to bridge the gap between public health decision makers and genomics in Pakistan. Functioning under KMU and in collaboration with the PHRL, ACGT has contributed over 1,200 genome sequences to GISAID and remains central to national outbreak preparedness.
